gdfalksen: Gina Torres as Nakaaya Molekane. Our next character from Blood In The Skies is the Talian archaeologist Nakaaya Molekane, head of the excavation that Steele and Ray join in the Badlands. Molekane is a tough, no-nonsense sort of person with very justified confidence in her own abilities. Like most Talians she has good business sense and an entrepreneurial spirit. When writing Blood In The Skies I did not originally have an actress in mind for her (no one quite seemed to fit the bill at the time) but several of the people who have read the book have commented to me that they imagined Torres (of Firefly fame) in the role. Looking at Torres’s work, I quite agree with them and I think she would make a smashing Molekane.
